Who said you can’t learn something from fashion,
music, and a lot of dancing?

The Macy’s Passport 08 Fashion Inform went all out with awesome fashions from Ed Hardy, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Levi’s and many more major brands. The use of music and dance made the crowd go wild as they models strutted their stuff down the catwalk. This is the 26th year for the fashion show, which has raised tens of millions of dollars for HIV awareness.
The fashion show has a very important message to send to the youth in the audience, “Knowledge is Power”. There was a two-hour preshow for the LAUSD students that included free food, drinks, and prizes, but more importantly, activities that are based on disease prevention. The students were able to participate in fun activities that had very important themes around healthy decisions, compassion, and protecting themselves against high-risk behaviors.
Around 2000 LAUSD high school students attended the event at Barker Hanger in the Santa Monica Airport. Carson HS, Cleveland HS, King Drew Magnet, Garfield HS, Franklin HS, Marshall HS, Taft HS, Taft HS Fashion, LA United ROP, Lincoln HS, Roosevelt HS, Huntington Park HS, Washington Prep HS and Gardena HS were among the lucky schools who had the opportunity to attend the event.
