(I KNOW/YO SE AT BOTTOM)

Student Comments continued

…I now know the importance of staying abstinent and using protection.

…I want to thank you…not just for speaking to our class but for possibly saving my life…You are a life saver…thanks to you I will make the right decisions.

…you gave me a huge impact when you showed us the pills you take everyday.

…I have now learned that not because a person looks super healthy doesn’t mean they can’t have AIDS/HIV. Trust me (you) have changed the way I feel about sex…there are many things that you put at risk when you do sex with no protection, specially when your in a young age.

…thanks to you for letting me know that AIDS really does affect you…I wouldn’t want to be infected since when I grow up I want to travel and take my mom out to meet the world.

…you made me realize the reality of all this…also I know that when it comes to sex, use a condom, and if you don’t have one just wait 10 mins. And go to CVS or something and buy a pack of Latex condoms.

…that made me think of making better decisions for my own future.

…I want to say thanks from the bottom of my heart because you had change my mind of being scare to go and take the HIV test…now that I heard your experience I want to go and test because if I had something I can take care of it as soon as possible.

…made me think of getting a check up for myself.

…having someone who is as real as you with a real personality made me think that this virus is something that is also a real thing and it can happen to anyone.

…I thought HIV wasn’t real, but now that I met you, I thought (think) different.

…if I have sex I will remember your speech …I will protect myself…and will take an HIV test…

…I will always have in mind the memory of you and your story. You may have just saved my life.

…Talking to us help me realize that harm AIDS do. Now I know more about it and how to prevent it.

…You really got me to realize that people with HIV/AIDS are really normal people.

…helping me actually understand more and know someone who actually has AIDS. For helping me understand that AIDS/HIV is not racist or sexist, that anyone from any race and any gender can contact the AIDS virus.

…Your method of remembering how to protect yourself against AIDS is going to be very helpful. I’ll make sure to tell everyone about the A,B,C’s.

…you guys show some really important facts, not (just tell) us to put stuff on, like condoms.

I think that it was good to have somebody speak to us about drugs & sex, but its even better listening about it from experienced people who have gone through it.

I thank you for coming and talking to us. I would most likely listen more to you guys because your living with it…thank you for talking to us and hopefully I will listen.

…hopefully you guys could do another presentation next year and teach my sister, because my sister is younger (and will take health next year).

Thank you. You guys did something right because half of the time I’m not interested in stories like (that) because I could care less…you people made me realize that it could happen to me.

I would like to thank you…after I heard (your stories) I started thinking and stopped doing what I was doing…

As teens, overall, I don’t think we took STD’s (HIV/AIDS) too serious until we had you guys there, in front of the class telling us your stories.

Because of you guys you got me thinking to myself, “Is it really worth it to mess up in life?” Thank you both for coming out here and taking the time for our safety.

I understand that I know I’m too young to have sex, but you know how it is. Now I (know) I shouldn’t be ashamed to carry condoms whenever I leave my house. I know what I want for myself and I know I do not want to be taking medications everyday…

You were actually the first person’s I have met that are infected with the virus of HIV but I noticed that when a person is infected you really can’t tell the difference with someone who is not infected.

You guys are doing something really positive for our community. Our class stopped being ignorant to hear your stories. Thank you.

Just to let you know, you have encouraged me to get tested. Cross you fingers and hope everything is A.OK.
and I’m healthy and living without any diseases.

I don’t know why, but what you were speaking of the other day made me realize that you can get a disease that will affect you seriously…you got me thinking about all the things that can happen to (me).

I was in shock, a guy gets STD’s from a woman…

…to know that saying NO, I can change a lot of things and one of the things I can change is my future.
Thank you for teaching me that I have the power.

…but thanks to you I will have a safe life. I’m going to use protections and ask my partner if he/she has some kind of AIDS.

…and when I find the “right one”, I’ll make her have an HIV test with me.

I was not here on Friday…but I would still like to thank you, I heard a lot of good things from my classmates and they said they learned a lot.

OMG!!! I just want you guys to know that you made a really big difference (to) me and the class. I will pass on this information to my friends and family…

…having HIV is something totally different than what I imagined. Thank you for making me realize that it is a lot of trouble to have HIV.

Thank you for taking your time to share your stories. I really learned a lot from them, both of your stories got to me. I was (now) able to talk to my sister and give her some advice when she asked for it.

I learned a lot, stuff I never knew and some stuff I wasn’t sure of.

You will always have someone there 4 U, (me)!!! I was absent the day of your presentation but I sure heard about it…I am going to prevent myself from getting any kind of STD’s (or AIDS)…

Want to thank you because you have me change my mind and decisions. Before I wasn’t thinking what protection is, but now I realize that it is very important for women and men.

HIV or AIDS doesn’t have to make you unhappy because you have US!!!

Thanks to you telling us your story a lot of us will (most likely) start caring a lot more!!

…(you) say you speak to us hoping to save one, you have saved more than half of us!!
